Process

Each client has unique needs. Each place requires a unique building.

Our design process seeks to identify and articulate these unique characteristics.

Solving programmatic and functional requirements is the first step. We listen closely to our clients and show them alternatives and diagrams. We like to look at options together with our clients and discuss pros and cons.

We believe that understanding context and culture is key in developing our work. We believe buildings should be of their time and should relate to their specific place.

We look closely at materials and systems and like to build our designs around how they go together. Use of local materials, innovative integration of energy-saving strategies, and careful design decisions lead to sustainable buildings that are durable, low-maintenance, and energy-efficient.

We have extensive experience in controlling schedule and budget on a wide variety of complex projects. Accurate scheduling and budgeting allows the process to move smoothly from concept to construction.
